Meet Our Sprouts Team
Ms. Cindy just celebrated her 10th year here at Sprouts in Westminster. She was also at our Finksburg location for 3 years before transitioning to Westminster. Cindy has a bachelor’s degree from UMBC and holds a teaching certificate to teach Infant and Toddler, Preschool, and School-age classes. In her spare time, Cindy likes to spend time with her grandchildren and make crafts with her Cricut. Ms. Cindy loves her babies and her bulletin boards are the envy of Pinterest!
Ms. Pat is currently our long-term substitute. In July of 2020 she celebrated her fourth year with us at Sprouts. Ms. Pat has two years of college from Dundalk Community College. She is Lead Teacher certified to teach Preschool and School-age classes. Ms. Pat has worked in childcare for twenty years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her four grandchildren and her two children. We are happy that Ms. Pat is back with us at Sprouts after a short break. We always appreciate her positivity and can-do energy!
Ms. Ashley will be celebrating her second year with us she began in November of 2018. Ashley has been a Lead Teacher in the Toddler room since she started with us; but has also substituted in other classes whenever the opportunity arises. She holds Infant and Toddler, Preschool and School-age certifications. Ashley has been working in the Early Childhood field for almost 18 years. She is a mom of two of the most free-spirited kids that you’ll ever find, and who she loves to spend all her time with outside of work. Ms. Ashley’s patience is one of her best qualities. She gets a kick out of her Toddlers every day!
Ms. Maycie began working with us in July of 2020 in the Toddler room. She earned her Preschool 90-hours Certification in a child development completer program in High School. Maycie is currently attending Howard Community College getting her Lead Teacher Certification in the Infant and Toddler Program. You can often find Maycie spending her time camping, hiking, and with family and friends! Her intention was to just work the summer program but decided to stay on. She has been a wonderful addition to our staff.
Ms. Courtney has been with us for two years as of May 2020. She has been our Two’s Lead Co-Teacher since she began with us. Ms. Courtney is certified to teach Preschool aged children and is currently enrolled in the Infant and Toddler program at Howard Community College, where she is completing her certification in that course of study. Outside of work you can find Ms. Courtney doing anything outdoors. She also enjoys crafting, drawing and spending time with her friends and family. Due to her major artistic talent, she is our go-to draw for anything Disney!
Ms. Heather celebrated her fifth year with us in June 2020. She worked in our Toddler room as a Lead Teacher from 2015-2018, then transitioned to the Two’s room from 2018 to present. Heather has her AA degree from Carroll Community College in Early Childhood Education. She has her teaching certificate to teach Infants and Toddlers, Preschool and School-age classes. Heather enjoys singing, dancing and having a good time. And of course, her toddler, Brantley, is her pride and joy! We appreciate Ms. Heather’s ability to go with the flow. An absolute must for a Two’s teacher!
Ms. Harlee joined our team in October 2020. She holds a Lead Teacher certification for Infants and Toddlers from Howard Community College, as well as, a Preschool certification from Smart Horizons. Harlee came to us from a local preschool, we are so happy to have her join our team. She has an 11-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter who occupy her time when she is not working. When she finds free time, Harlee enjoys reading novels, drawing, and watching Disney movies.
Pre-K Four’s Teacher
Ms. Alicia joined our team in October 2020. She has her teaching certificate to teach Infants and Toddlers, Preschool and School-age classes. Alicia will have her AA degree from Carroll Community College in Early Childhood Education in May of 2021. She has taught Preschool children since 2016. Alicia earned her Preschool 90-hours Certification in a child development completer program in High School. Outside of work you can find Ms. Alicia spending time outdoors four-wheeling and roasting marshmallows over a bonfire. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Ms. Alicia has been a wonderful addition to our staff.
Assistant Teachers and Substitutes
Ms. Susan started working at Sprouts in August of 2017. She is a Floater assisting in all classrooms and age groups at Sprouts, but mostly with the Infants, Toddlers and Two’s classrooms. Susan has an Associated Degree in Business. She enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren, and she likes to golf. Susan also likes to work on word search puzzles and cross stitch when she has time. She actively sings in her church choir and plays the handbells. Lately, you will find Ms. Susan assisting at morning drop-off time with her friendly demeanor and big smile!
Ms. Gracie joined our team in August of 2020. She is Lead Teacher qualified in Preschool and assists in our Toddler and Two’s rooms. She graduated from Catoctin High School in 2019 and is currently attending Fredrick Community College where she will receive her AA degree in Early Childhood Education. Gracie’s hobbies include playing softball, crafting and catch up with her friends and family. However, at this point intime, she finds herself spending most of her time completing schoolwork! We are thankful that Gracie can fit Sprouts and school into her busy schedule!
Ms. Randi started working at Sprouts in October 2019. She is a Floater and/or our Permanent Substitute. She is Lead Teacher certified in Infants & Toddlers, Preschool and School-Age, but she enjoys her 3’s the most. That is where you will find her most afternoons. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two children, swimming, walking and bike riding. Randi truly loves working with children. We are glad that Randi has been able to spend her afternoons with us!
Ms. Laurie has been involved in many aspects of Early Childhood Education, from Classroom Assistant (way back in the day!) Lead Teacher, Assistant Camp Director, Camp Director, Director of Preschool and currently Owner, Operator and a Child Development Program License holder from Maryland State Department of Education; Office of Childcare. She attended Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University) and majored in Early Childhood Development. Laurie received her Certificate in Early Childhood Leadership from Stevenson University and most recently completed the Coaching and Mentoring Program from Maryland Family Network, where she learned current developmentally appropriate best practice for strategies and tactics to use in early education. She enjoys getting together for family holidays, summers at the beach and gym time! She has operated Sprouts Childcare Center with the help and support from many supportive staff and families, since 2003!
Ms. Madeline just celebrated her fifth year with us! She began in August 2015 as the afternoon Pre-K Lead Teacher, and School-Age Summer Program Director, then transitioned to the center Director position in April of 2017. Ms. Madeline has her teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education from Towson University and is qualified as Lead Teacher in Infants and Toddler, Preschool and School-Age programs. She has been working in preschool and childcare for thirteen years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors. Hiking, cycling, running, camping and kayaking are her favorites. Madeline also loves spending quality time with her family and friends. Ms. Madeline wears many hats at the center, including Director, Teacher, Mentor and friend. She excels in all of them!
